I have often said that during the height of Covid, your comics (and others) helped me get through, specially as an essential worker x2 (an ER social worker and part time college instructor). I’ll never forget the strips of June 7, 2020 when a bunch of you drew 6 symbols in your strips to thank essential workers. I have a few of those prints signed by folks and hanging on my living room wall. Thank you for making a big difference for a lot of us during those stressful times. On a side note, it was during those times that I took the chance to reach out to connect with you. Bet you’re sorry now. Haha
Who knew back in 1982 that we’d be taking pictures with our phone…and still have them facing the wrong way.
I love the baseball radio strip. Many times I prefer to listen to games rather than watch them. Even other sports. I remember listening to the radio broadcast of the Indy 500 before racing became a big televised sport. It was just the sound of the constant drone of car engines in a doppler effect, but it was exciting to me!
I would rather listen to a baseball game with a good announcer than watch it with a not so good announcer. As I’m writing this I have a baseball game on TV with the sound off.
Tom McCarthy and John Kruk do a great job for the Phillies. Kruk is really funny! Travel games are always a crap shoot. I follow a lot of other team games on Google now, too just so I know what's going on around the league.
I think he dealt with that, too, but the radio was ahead by a few seconds, so he could look up from his reading/reviewing of stuff to catch the play visually on the tube.
As strange as it all was, for the comics, Covid was comedy gold. Briefly started reading Dilbert again at that time too. Seeing the characters like in Drabble with masks was something cathartic too
I decided to apply to and attend The University of Miami (FL) because a high school friend attending there gave me a tour when visiting family in the area. The girls in the string bikini's at the large outdoor pool at the student union was the main reason!

Kruk would be great to listen to!
My father would watch the game on TV and listen to it on the radio!
I used to do that but there was always a delay on one of them.

I’ve done that! Mostly during playoffs.
