Our strips for the weekend…

I was proud of this one. I didn’t know I could draw a kitchen sink!

According to the blue pencil marks, it looks like I originally planned on the radio being bigger!

A Covid related strip from 2020. I may have told you this already, but during Covid, I got a call from a TV news reported who wanted to interview me over Zoom. She pointed out that during a tense time, my strips were providing comic relief. She thought that was important to people. I had never really thought about it, but it made me feel good.

Who would’ve thought back in 1982 that we would one day take pictures with our phones?

Another aspect of Covid.

I have often said that during the height of Covid, your comics (and others) helped me get through, specially as an essential worker x2 (an ER social worker and part time college instructor). I’ll never forget the strips of June 7, 2020 when a bunch of you drew 6 symbols in your strips to thank essential workers. I have a few of those prints signed by folks and hanging on my living room wall. Thank you for making a big difference for a lot of us during those stressful times. On a side note, it was during those times that I took the chance to reach out to connect with you. Bet you’re sorry now. Haha
Who knew back in 1982 that we’d be taking pictures with our phone…and still have them facing the wrong way.
I love the baseball radio strip. Many times I prefer to listen to games rather than watch them. Even other sports. I remember listening to the radio broadcast of the Indy 500 before racing became a big televised sport. It was just the sound of the constant drone of car engines in a doppler effect, but it was exciting to me!
