I love the Wendy strips because there always seems to be so much going on below the surface. After years of reading those strips I've chalked it up to her age. She runs hot and cold because at 18 or 19, or whatever age she is, nobody knows what they really want, yet everyone expects you to have it all figured out. So she butterflies back and forth with Norm, who also doesn't know what he really wants.
I remember Charles Schulz discussing Lucy in an article. He wrote that if you looked under the surface she's probably not all that bad, but if you looked even deeper you'd probably discover she's even worse! I kind of think of Wendy and her dating Norm in much the same way.

I didn’t realize until now that Bob has been around longer than both Wally and Oogie.
And a belated Happy 3 year anniversary to the Daily Drabble!
Ha! "It's a lousy job, but..." It is indeed a curious relationship.
Henderson?!? That's a new one for me. How long was he around?
I'm guessing we'll never see Ralph's Mom's face.
I think I would have forgotten about him if it wasn't for the fact he's in one of the early books, In The Fast Lane
