Hi everybody!
Thanks again to all of our subscribers! It’s fun for me to see these older strips again and share comments and stories from the drawing board, and I’m glad you enjoy it too. I appreciate the nice comments and questions every day. This is a great platform to present these vintage strips, as well as videos and commentary. There are other features I haven’t used here yet, like live broadcasts. It might be fun to have a studio tour and do questions and answers. It’s on my to-do list!
If you are a free subscriber, please consider switching to a paid subscription so you can see all posts, videos, stories and commentary in their entirety, as well as access to the archive and even receive an occasional gift.

Pretty sure Drabble is the only comic strip to mention the actor William Bendix.

I did several Labor Day strips over the years about the Jerry Lewis telethon. It was such a big event!

So one thing I've always wondered, and I'm sure it's changed over the years, and you can talk in generalities, I don't mean to get into your business! :-) But especially in the old days, how did cartoonists get paid, and what determined how much? Like I know you all belong to a syndicate that gets you into newspapers, but say is 1985 again and I plunk down my 35 cents for a Chicago Sun-Times, how did that all trickle down to the 25 or so cartoonists in the paper after all the other expenses and columnists, etc that get paid as well. Also, I got excited for a second when I saw the email, I thought I forgot it was Friday!
Eau de désodorisant!!
