Hi everybody!
A quick thanks and shout-out to all of our subscribers. And thanks so very much to subscribers who have upgraded to a paid subscription. A signed Drabble book is on the way!
Some of the original artwork today tells a story about the lessons a young cartoonist never seems to learn.

Lots of White-Out, an “X” in blue pencil above the third box, and the word “our” circled underneath (how could I have misspelled “our”??) The blue pencil marks are from my editor, to the syndicate artists who correct the mistakes of the dumb cartoonist. I kept them very busy way back then, and still do!

White-Out, blue pencil marks, and dialogue pasted over the original (box 2). They told me to pencil my strips with a special blue pencil because the marks wouldn’t show up on the printed newspaper version. Not sure if having all these goofs on the originals will make the strip more or less valuable. The best thing a cartoonist can do to increase the value of the originals is die.
