Hi everybody!
I hope your week is going well.
Here are our three strips from this date, plus a Sunday (not from this date, but only a month or so off)!
September 6, 1986
I must have been a little grumpy when I drew this. I always liked The Newlywed Game! Nice rendering of a TV though, don’t you think?
September 6, 1988
I think I had to look up Engineer Bill to draw this.
September 6, 1994
Nowadays, that’s a pretty good deal!
And a Sunday strip…
August 4, 1991
Thanks for reading!

The 1986 strip could run today and be just as accurate.
I always wondered why it took a college degree to be able to drive a train.
I really love the textbook strip. It brings back a lot of memories and makes me miss my dad. When I was in college my dad used to go with me to the university bookstore when it was time to buy books.
I have very early memories, I probably was maybe three, when he was going to school full time and working second and third shifts at General Motors.
He loved college and he loved the University of Delaware, and was excited to see his kids go to school there, so he sort of relived the experience by accompanying me to the bookstore.
I could never have afforded new books so I always bought them used. I remember looking for books with just the right amount of previously highlighted text (too much highlight indicated the previous student didn't know what to focus on and too little was unhelpful).
These days kids rent their books for their classes through Amazon. I feel like they're missing out on what, to me, was a great experience, if only for the time spent with my father.
Anyway, sorry for the long comment, but evoking family memories is one of the reasons why I love Drabble!
