This is kind of a common joke these days.

I did a story line where a new donut shop in town (Harry’s) is trying to lure Ralph’s business. The old donut shop is not taking this lying down. Ralph is certainly in the driver’s seat!

I do crossword puzzles every day, but I never improve!
Last weekend I was in Santa Rosa, where Charles M. Schulz lived and worked. I stopped by his ice rink for old times sake. I think I’ve mentioned before that he built The Redwood Empire Ice Arena not far from his studio. It was the site of Christmas themed ice shows, hockey tournaments, birthday parties, skate lessons, and other community activities. It was also where Sparky started each workday. He would stop at the rink coffee shop for an English muffin and orange juice before heading to his studio. While he was there he’d read the paper, say hello to friends, and watch the skaters. The rink and coffee shop had a very warm and welcoming feel, obviously with a Peanuts influence. Sparky sat at the same table every day, and there was always a “reserved” sign on it. We sat there with him many times and have many great memories.
No one sits there any more and it has become like a small shrine. I feel kind of bad for the workers there who never knew him. They would’ve loved him!
Who would imagine an ice rink could be so much fun, especially for a non-ice skater like me? If you’re ever in the area, the rink and nearby gift shop (not to mention the Schulz Museum) are well worth seeing.
Thanks for reading!

Santa Rosa is on my bucket list of places to visit.
I love the crossword strip! Joy and anger often overlap.
Did the emails go out for the book signing? Just want to make sure I didn't miss it, so much junk comes in each day! Thanks.
