Hi Friends! Happy Sunday from my house to yours!
I’ve drawn quite a few Easter strips since 1979. Let’s take a look at some of the earliest Drabble Easter strips from the 1980’s. As always, these are the original drawings.
Easter 1981
Norman and Patrick.
Easter 1983
This one is kind of interesting because the color guide is still attached. In the old days, I would put a piece of tracing paper over the original and color it in like a coloring book. The colors in the Sunday newspaper would match the guide.
The colors also could be indicated by letters and numbers. I also wrote them on it just to be on the safe side!
Easter 1986
Featured Bob the Duck wearing a sweater, with an appearance by Ginger the dog (also in a sweater). Kind of a weird family, I know!

One extra today. I couldn’t resist a pre-Easter strip featuring Wally.

Thanks for reading. Have a great week ahead!

Interesting to see the color overlay!
