Hi Everybody!

Last December, I told you the story of “Elmore the Too Tall Elf.” My syndicate editors invited me to create the 1987 edition of the NEA Christmas strip, an annual series of Christmas themed strips that ran for three weeks every December for the NEA newspaper syndicate (then part of United Features Syndicate). I had free reign to come up with any story line I wanted. I got the idea of a six-foot tall man who applies to become one of Santa’s elves. Again, this was in 1987, about 15 years before the movie “Elf.” We have many new followers to this newsletter, so I thought I’d show those strips again today, tomorrow, and Christmas Eve for our paid subscribers.

But first, here are our three strips from this date back in the 80’s.
